Armenian sociological
association headed by Gevork Pogosyan studied readability of papers
in Armenia by request of American organization IREX/ProMedia. The
research was held in 4 cities of the republic: in Yerevan, Guymri,
Vanadzor and Kapan. The readers think that the utmost characteristic
of the offered information is: objectivity (38.4%), efficiency (28.1%)
and reliability (17,3%). As far as the contest is concerned, average
statistical reader is interested in: interview with interesting
people- 41,8%, analytical political articles- 29,7%, interesting
journal articles- 28,5%, articles- comments- 21,9%. Most popular
Armenian papers are: “Iravunk” (23,4%), "Aravot" (23,1%),
"Azg" (13,4%), "Voice of Armenia" (12,1%), "Republic
of Armenia” (9,6%), "TV-Channel" (7,9%), "Tsaik"
(7,9%), "02" (7,6%), "Hingshabti" (7,2%). “Eter”
weekly is in the head of this list- 28.7 percent… >>>

 As
a matter of fact he is an architect by profession. He has graduated
from Yerevan Polytechnic Institute and for seven years worked in Yerevan
project institutes. Still, he is known as a designer and painter.
Probably, years spent in the artistic college after Terlemezyan affected
to that. He designed international exhibitions in Warszawa and Budapest,
“Yerevan-78” all-union film festival and “Yerevan-96” International
Chess Olympiad. He was one of the Armenian caricaturists who in 1975

According to
UN, Armenia is in the 13th place among 40 world countries,
citizens of which apply to developed countries for getting refugee
status. In this list Iraq was in the first place. As ARMINFO informs,
in the first half of 2002 at about 3939 Armenian citizens have applied
for gaining the above-mentioned status. The most number of the applications
was sent to Austria: 1206. Representative of the higher commission
on the issues of refuges in Armenia Lloyd Dakin (USA) is convinced,
that applying to developed countries for refugee status is causa
mortis, because 95% of such applications are being refused.
